We offer a five year follow up programme for patients who have undergone Gastric Sleeve or Gastric Bypass surgery and a one year follow up programme for patients with a Gastric Balloon. Our patient coordinator will be available to answer questions via email or telephone.
Half the price of Norway surgical treatment
With us you get the same (or an even better) service than that of a private clinic in Norway, for half the price. For approximately half the cost, we can offer a similar or a better service than most private clinics in Norway.

Direct flights from Norway to Riga
There are direct flights from the Norway to Riga (RIX)., Norwegian Air fly from Oslo, Trondheim and Bergen. Wizz Air fly from Sandefjord. Flight connections are also available from the rest of Norway through hub in Oslo.
Surgeon’s liability insurance
A Surgeon’s liability insurance of 30 000 Euro is provided for the bariatric surgeons operating at our clinic.

Gastric bypass – one of the most commonly performed procedures in bariatric surgery. Many surgeons prefer this rather than the other types of operations, because it can lead to fewer complications and is considered the safest operation.
Mini Gastric bypass is the younger brother of gastric bypass surgery and originated in 1997, reducing the level of complications. It is a quick and easy procedure, which is gaining popularity all over the world.
Gastric Sleeve – this operation means that the stomach is converted into a “narrow tube”, and it takes away about 75% of the stomach. The volume of the stomach is greatly reduced, therefore ability to produce ghrelin, the hormone that makes you hungry, is taken away. The assumption is that this helps to reduce weight.
Gastric Balloon 12 month package 27.925,-NOK.
The package includes the following:
• Transfer from airport to hotel / hospital / airport
• A night’s stay at the hotel
• All necessary documentation and agreements
• 24 hour assistance at the hospital
• 1 night’s stay in hospital
• Blood tests for the operation
• Chest x-ray
• Gastroscopy
• Abdominal ultrasound examination
• Gastric Balloon procedure
• ECG
• Consultation with the surgeon and anaesthetist
• Anaesthetist fees
• Nurse’s fees
• Doctor’s fees
• Nutrition and diet plan
• Sick leave / medications upon discharge
• 1 year follow up
• The hospital has liability for additional medical procedures that must be done in Riga, up to 12 months after the procedure, and it covers costs up to 2,000 Euros. This insurance applies in cases where the doctor is to blame for any complications, and will cover any re surgeries, other treatments, etc., if it is proven that the doctor in Riga has made a mistake. So far we have never had a case where this insurance has been applied, because the surgeon and his team are very experienced, but it’s good to know that such liability exists, and you get it at no extra charge.

975,-NOK – Day 2 at the hospital.
1.800,-NOK – enough to bring a travel companion during your Gastric Balloon operation, (2 nights).
5.825,-NOK – for the removal of the balloon after 12 months.
A Gastric Balloon is inserted into the stomach through the mouth, which means that after eating a small amount of food, you feel full. A small thin tube will be inserted through the mouth, down the throat and oesophagus, then, a gastric balloon made of silicone is inserted and filled with saline in the stomach.
